Welcome, welcome, welcome. We're so glad you're here and can't believe it's finally time to kick off the shoe drive. So why a shoe drive you ask? Well, the answer is pretty simple: because we can. Seriously, it's that simple. We have a great community at Lincoln Park High School, as well as in the neighborhood, so why not "just do it"? We're simply providing a means for people to do some good. Besides, how many of you have been waiting to retire that New Year's resolution of cleaning out your shoe closet? More than a few of you, I'm sure.
This year we've partnered with Soles4Souls (Soles4Souls.org) and their "4Opportunity" program which helps people in developing, low-income countries launch and sustain their own small business selling donated shoes. These "micro-businesses", usually 1-2 people and family run, provide the means for a path forward toward a better life.
By collecting a minimum of 1,000+ pairs of new/gently used shoes, we can divert roughly 1,250 pounds from local landfills and create nearly $9,000 in economic opportunities for families and communities across the globe. In countries like Honduras and Haite, these donations can provide a month of consistent, quality food, housing and education for 12 families.
For benefitting others and a cleaner planet, will you join us? See below for more including drop sites and FAQ's. The drop site list is fluid, up to date as of today, and will change as we add more sites.

FAQ's
Q: What condition do my shoes need to be in?
A: We accept all styles, sizes, and types of shoes, as long as they still have some "life" left in them...meaning no holes, tears, mold, etc. Chances are if you'll wear them then we can use them. To quote our contact from S4S: "Think of shoes that can still be worn with dignity".
Q: Is the any special prep for the shoes before we donate them?
A: We ask that they're generally clean and if they deserve a wipe down then please do so. As well, gently tie together the pair that have shoestrings. If shoes are without shoestrings and you can put a rubber band around them then great. If not then we'll take care of that.
Q: Where do I deliver my shoes?
A: Deliver your schools with your students to school (Main or Freshman buildings) or drop them off at one of our other drop-off/pop-up sites (see above). If delivering more than a few pairs of shoes it would be helpful to have them delivered in a paper or plastic bag as we need to transport them to ultimately box and ship them. It's much easier in bags.
Q: Where do my shoes go once collected?
A: Once your shoes are shipped to Soles4Souls, they begin their journey for their 4Opportunity program which helps create longer term value and life of your soles for many people in developing nations across the globe. For the "4Opportunity program", shoes are sold via small, 1–2-person micro-enterprises across the globe.
Q: Can I donate single shoes? What about cleats?
A: Yes, Soles4Souls will accept single shoes as well as cleats, as long as they are gently worn. If you have a large amount of either of these then please reach out to Keith @ Keith@Lphslionsbooster.com to discuss further before dropping off. We've been asked to contact S4S in these cases.
